Setting:

So start the Star Wars theme and practically everyone can hum along with the wordless song these days. It's a pretty well-known classic that just keeps on going and will probably outlive all of us. Everyone knows how the story starts so say it with me:

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

There was once a great and mighty Galactic Senate that attempted to keep peace throughout the galaxy. Though hard it was a system built on a democracy and gave them a chance to fight for their beliefs. But evil took root at the center of the Senate in the form a Sith. He plotted to rule the galaxy and do away with democracy so his Empire could rise. To gain the power to do this he gathered those who opposed the Senate and made them a serious threat, hiding his involvement in this. His secret plots were successful, the Senate granted him power over a large army to combat the Separatists thus resulting in the Clone Wars. Eventually he declared himself the Emperor of the Empire and brought an end to democracy. He now ruled the galaxy. Our story starts just before that.

History:

Like some stories this one starts with a man and a woman who met and fell in love. Their love was forbidden due to the status they held so they kept it a secret. They married and one day, the woman became pregnant. In order to protect his growing family the man sought more power to save them but that power began to corrupt him. It tore them apart, leading to death and destruction.

And so, Luke was born. Oh wait, that's not the right kid. Leia came after him because surprise, it's twins! Unfortunately their mother, Senator Padmé Amidala, only lived long enough to briefly look at them and name them. Their father, Jedi Knight and Sith Lord Anakin Skywalker AKA Darth Vader, had suffered terrible injuries and was far away being rebuilt by the Emperor. To keep the Force-sensitive twins from the corruption of their father it was agreed that they should be separated and hidden. Luke went to Tatooine to live with their step-uncle and aunt while Leia went to Alderaan with a trusted friend and ally, Bail Organa. They grew up never knowing about each other but they would meet again nineteen years down the line. While Leia knew that she had been adopted, she was never told who her birth parents were. It was safer for her that way.

Now nineteen, Leia was traveling to Tatooine to find one of the last remaining known Jedi to ask for his help when her ship was captured by Darth Vader. As the ship was being boarded she placed the stolen Death Star plans in R2D2 and he escaped down to the desert planet in search of Obi-Wan Kenobi with C-3PO in tow. She was left to face Darth Vader but denied his accusations of being apart of the Alliance. So she taken onto his ship and eventually to the Death Star I for interrogation. Not even under torture did Leia give away to location of the Rebel base. That's some great father-daughter bonding time. When her planet was threatened with complete destruction she gave them the name of an old abandoned base on Dantooine. Even with the information, Tarkin ordered the destruction of her homeplanet - killing millions of people including her adopted father, Bail. He said it was a good target to strike fear across the galaxy and then ordered her execution to be scheduled. Leia was taken back to her cell where she awaited death.

Enter our hero, Short Stormtrooper. Actually it was Luke Skywalker, some kid who had brought Obi-Wan Kenobi and her droids in search of her father on Alderaan and ended up getting caught by the Death Star's tractor beam. While Obi-Wan was off dealing with the tractor beam, Luke took it upon himself to rescue her when he noticed she was going to die. And so she was saved. Or would be if they hadn't alerted security to their presence and now had them shooting at them while they were pinned down. Great rescue guys. Looks like the princess will have to take it from here. She blasted her way into the nearest garbage shoot and escaped the stormtroopers that way.

Whew, it may smell but at least it's safe. But wait. No, okay they're not. As it turned out there was some sort of monster living in the knee-high water and it decided Luke looked like a tasty meal. Apparently it's hard to find someone in knee-deep water because after it dragged him down they couldn't seem to find him in order to rescue him. Then suddenly it let him go and things went from bad to worse. It's garbage day and they're in a giant trash compactor. With the walls closing in, Luke contacted C-3PO to shut it down but the droid was no where to be found. Luckily, the droid responded before they were all crushed to death and R2D2 saved the day, like he does.

They weren't safe yet though considering they still had to get through an army of stormtroopers to get back to Han Solo's ship. The cocky pilot and his Wookie companion took off after a couple of enemies, leaving Luke and Leia on their own. Of course, they ran into trouble and backed themselves into a corner. Er, well, a huge chasm that is. When Luke shot the door-control he also blasted the bridge control and essentially left them stranded. Luckily that stormtrooper utility belt he was wearing had a cable. So while being shot at again the pair swung over to the other side like Batman.

On the other side they met up with the droids and their pilot. Now all they had to do was get through the small battalion of stormtroopers standing between them and the ship, while hoping Obi-Wan managed to disable the tractor beam. Easy, right? And it was with a little help from Obi-Wan who used his fight with Darth Vader as a distraction. He allowed himself to be killed when he saw that they were making their escape. Once on board the Millennium Falcon they were far from safe as there were fighters pursuing them. Han and Luke made short work of those fighters though and soon they were off to the Rebel base. Of course, it was all too easy and the Empire had placed a homing beacon on the Falcon in order to track them back to their base on Yavin 4.

Once at the base, Leia had the Death Star blueprints analyzed for a weakness and helped hatched a plan to destroy it. They planned to send fighter in to shoot some weapons down a small exhaust vent. Leia paid Han as she promised she would and thought she'd never see him again. Their fighters went out and several of them were shot down by the enemy before finally Luke took a run at it. Han showed up in the nick of time to watch Luke's back and send Darth Vader spinning away. The Death Star was destroyed and the Rebel Alliance was free to fight another day. Obviously this is the perfect time for a victory celebration, Luke and Han were heroes. Leia made Han a Captain and Luke a Commander with medals to go along with their new titles.

Cue the second movie. With the Empire on the hunt for the Alliance they took up a base on the ice planet of Hoth. When Luke went missing Han set out to search for him. They were out all night long and patrols found them the next morning, Luke having been hurt by one of the local creatures is placed in a bacta tank to heal upon their return. Leia proceeded to make a show of kissing her still-unknown brother in front of Han. Whoops. There's little time to dwell on it as the Empire had found their base and now they must make plans to evacuate the planet. Fighters are sent out to distract the ground troops while the transports escape and Leia stayed behind to coordinate the effort. Luckily for her, Han was having trouble with the Falcon and was there to get the stubborn princess out before the base came down around her.

However, they weren't out of danger yet and the Falcon's hyperdrive was malfunctioning. Not a good thing when Imperial fighters were pursuing them so Han piloted them into an asteroid belt, hoping to pick some of them off and buy them time to fix the problem. They found a hiding place deep in one of the pockets of a larger asteroid and got to work on fixing the ship. Here is where the pair shared their first kiss before they were interrupted by C-3PO. But back to work now before they get blown up by the Empire who's now searching for them by making things explode. While she was resting in the cockpit, Leia saw something move outside the window and so they don breathing gear to go check it out.

There just so happened to be flying creatures living in this cave and they were chewing on the ship. And that's not even the worst of it. The cave floor moved when a blaster was shot at it. They hurried back onto the ship and Han got them the hell out of there because the cave was actually a giant space slug. Out of the stomach and into the teeth of the Empire with their still-damaged ship. With a bit of maneuvering the Falcon was attached to the Imperial cruiser to wait for them to leave the area so they could float away with the trash. Unfortunately, Darth Vader had hired several bounty hunters and one Boba Fett tracked them.

Because of the hyperdrive they had to find a system nearby that wasn't under Imperial control and one fit the bill. Let's hope this old buddy of Han's doesn't shoot them down on sight. When they arrived at Cloud City they were greeted by Lando Calrissian who gave them a rather warm welcome considering the history between him and Han. He put his people to work on the repairs while giving his guests a special treatment. Everything took a sudden turn when Darth Vader showed up to dinner. What a great time for dad to meet the boyfriend. Like all dads do, he gave Han the "interrogation" except without the questions and went straight for the physically painful part.

Shortly after they were reunited in the dungeon they were collected again and brought to witness part of the trap that had been set to capture Luke. Han became a test subject and was frozen in carbonite but not before Leia confessed her feelings for him. Geez dad, are you going to do this to all the guys she's interested in? Done with Han seeing as how he survived the process, Vader gave him over to Fett so he could take him to Jabba for the price on his head set by the Hutt. He ordered Lando to take Leia and Chewie to his ship which had not been part of the deal made to keep the people of Cloud City safe. On the way, Leia managed to warn Luke of the trap though it wasn't entirely successful.

Before they reached Vader's ship Lando ambushed the stormtroopers, taking their weapons and freeing Chewie who had been the only one shackled. Thanks to Wookie influence Lando told them the situation and that maybe they'd be able to stop Fett from taking Han. So they rushed to the landing pad only to watch as the ship blasted off. It was time to get out of Cloud City before it was completely overrun with Imperial troops and so they boarded the Falcon. As they were flying away Leia sensed that Luke needed her and she ordered Lando to turn around. The Jedi was found hanging from a weather vane with one arm missing and brought on board. They met up with the rest of the fleet where Luke was treated and given a new mechanical arm while Lando and Chewie went off to start the rescue mission for Han.

Play the third movie. The scene is set with the twin suns over the desert of Tatooine. R2-D2 and C-3PO were sent to deliver a message to Jabba the Hutt from Luke and to give him a gift of good faith. That gift just so happened to be the droids themselves. Later Leia arrived in the disguise of a bounty hunter named Boushh with Chewie as her bounty. She threatened Jabba for more money with a thermal detonator and was allowed to stay. When she thought everyone was asleep that night, Leia crept across to free Han from the carbonite but they were caught before they could escape. Han was thrown into a cell with Chewie while Leia took the place of Jabba's dancing slave girl who had been killed recently.

Personality:

Abilities, Weaknesses and Power Limitations:

✔ Weapons: Leia is very efficient with a blaster. She's an excellent marksman and rarely misses when there's a weapon in her hand.

✔ Self-Defense | Combat: When she became senator a friend of her father's taught her how to defend herself. This means she can easily defend herself against an opponent.

✔ Pilot: She's also a capable pilot. While perhaps not as good as Luke or Han, Leia has been known to pilot the occasional Y-wing fighter for Alliance missions. At one point Leia also shows that she can pilot a swoop through a forest of thick trees pretty well.

✔ Tactician: Considering her life, Leia is a skilled tactician and capable of orchestrating large-scale battle attack plans. It helps that she's quick on her feet and can change strategies while being shot at.

✔✖ The Force: Like her brother and father before her, Leia does have the ability to use the Force and has. It's been something she's had from an early age, detecting the danger of a broken railing before someone got hurt. Leia also has a special connection with Luke considering they're siblings, able to sense him when he's in need of help. She also has this uncanny ability to know things she shouldn't, such as what her mother was like even though Padmé died just after she was born or that Luke was her brother.

However, she hasn't had any proper training in using the Force so her abilities in this area are severely lacking. If she was to undergo the proper training, Leia would rival any Jedi Knight in lightsaber combat, have a natural talent with battle meditation, be able to sense specific Force signatures and use some of its telekinetic powers (though not in levitation). Eventually she would be able to even communicate telepathically, especially with her brother over long distances, or use it to read people's minds or implant suggestions into their heads. She'd even be able to Force-flash electronics, which is basically causing equipment to malfunction temporarily. This is, of course, IF Leia were to start learning how to access the Force but she's a long way off for that to happen. Just, putting this out there in case she does end up learning here on the Tranquility.

✖ Swimming: At the age of 21 Leia admitted to not being able to swim. Seeing as how she's been pretty busy over these last two years, she hasn't found the time to learn.
