Chosen not just because she's post-death but also because people die or get hurt around her. First the violence inflicted on her at the age of six, and her father's retaliating attack on the boys which he was sent to prison for. The violence done to her traumatized Ariana, the irreparable damage causing uncontrollable fits that often involve outbursts of uncontrollable magic. It forced them to move until one day she finally killed her own mother in one of her fits. After that her brothers had to taken on the responsibility of her care at too young of an age. Despite Ariana's other qualities her madness can control her life - and those around her as well. (Note: My second choice for House/Power is Sigyn/Growth.)

She doesn't want to. Showing her face to the world is not something she's used to and it's written all over her hesitant expression. Hiding away would be so much better and it took a great deal of prompting to get her to do this. So here is a fourteen year old girl looking very nervous. Ariana is sitting on a couch, hands fiddling with the hem of her dress which causes the video feed to move back and forth ever so slightly.
When she speaks her accent is unmistakably British even if her voice is quiet.] Hullo, my name is Ariana. I've just arrived and I was wondering if there were any goats, and if I might be permitted to feed them on a semi-regular basis.
[As much as she wants to, Ariana knows there will be days when she can't bring herself to leave the safety of her home, no matter who's beside her.]
I don't need paid, I just like to feed them. Back home I would help my brother, Abe, feed the goats.
[Ariana goes silent for a moment while casting her gaze off-screen before looking back. Just talking to people outside of her family is a big deal for her. So her next question is downright huge.]
Would anyone like to have a cup of tea?
[That's where she leaves it.]
