❧ Character Information ❧
Character’s Full Name: Giselle
Fandom: Disney's Enchanted
Are they from (an anime, book, manga, video game, etc.): Movie
Age of Character: Probably early 20's
Point in Canon: Right after Edward shows up
۞ History: True love's kiss
۞ Personality:
One word to describe Giselle is cheerful. It takes a lot to break her out of this cheerful state and she has never felt anger or frustration due to her life in Andalasia. All of this is due to the perfect fantasy world that she lives in. Most of the people who live in this world are living in their own worlds minus the few exceptions like Queen Narissa. She’s also a dreamer believing in true love and that she will find a prince to love. It’s so strong that when Giselle did find someone she thought would be her prince they set to wed the day after they met. Giselle also tries to instill a romantic side into those around her as well, mostly because she herself is a hopeless romantic.
In Andalasia people don’t get divorces or split up, when two people meant to be together meet she sees it as true love and will try to help people see all the reasons they fell in love in the first place. She actually gets very upset to learn that a couple is having issues. Giselle will even go so far to help someone to even break out into a song in order to express how she thinks things should be. It goes pretty well with her creativity seeing as how she built her perfect true love out of things found around the forest she lived in. She can use this creativity to find new and meaningful ways for two people to spend time together and show each other how much they love the other. Of course she also believes that if two people can sing a duet together that they were meant to be. Giselle also uses this creativity to make clothes for herself (with the help of her animal friends). She was able to make a dress for herself pretty fast not just once but twice.
On top of all of that Giselle has an innocent soul. It makes her very trusting of people even though she really shouldn’t. Sometimes it actually doesn’t do her any good as she can’t see what’s right in front of her like someone intending to do her harm. Things are black and white in her world – monsters are bad, princes slay monsters to save the girl, and sometimes there’s an evil stepmother. She thought that her soon-to-be stepmother-in-law was nice and kind just because of the façade Narissa wore. In most people’s eyes that would make her naïve and she is a little. Giselle tries to see the best in everyone but she just can’t quite understand that not everyone is good. Her naivety also tends to lead her into trouble between the ogre, falling down the well and getting stolen from.
However her tendency to get into trouble doesn’t stop her from being kind towards others. Giselle is very caring and compassionate not only to her animal friends but also to everyone she meets. She will go out of her way to help strangers and accept those who might be otherwise dismissed (like the New York vermin). It goes nicely with her loyalty. Even though she’s pretty much never fought for herself in her life it won’t stop her from raising a sword to save someone she cares for. While she may not have done this yet in canon it doesn’t mean she’s not capable of it, Giselle also wouldn’t abandon any one if they were in trouble.
Yet not everything about Giselle is sunshine and roses. She can be very stubborn at times, especially when she believes she’s right. It’s not necessarily a bad thing considering how sweet and cheerful she normally is. So her relatively short but fierce stubbornness helps balance out her other qualities. Giselle also sticks to her beliefs and convictions very well. Even though they may shift when she realizes the world isn’t what she thought it was she still holds on to several of the ideals despite the changes that happened. Even if she learns something absolutely horrible Giselle is such an optimistic that she believes that it can turn out alright.
There’s a bit of feistiness in Giselle, enough so that she can become defiant and even confrontational if the situation is right. While it may not last long and she can get easily distracted she definitely has a lot of spirit that makes her seem wild and free like one of her animal friends. Giselle can also be very independent seeing as how she can do household chores with just the help of her animals. Though she’s pretty hopeless in situations where she gets thrown out of her element and will easily give away money she should have kept. Honestly things like money and even jewels don’t mean much to her seeing as how not only did she use gems for eyes on her fake prince but also handed money she was supposed to use to survive.
She's also a determined and hard worker no matter what task is set before her. Even if it's a task that others would find disgusting Giselle will sing a cheery song as she cleans up. She'll do it until the chores are done and doesn't shirk away from the things she has to do. Of course things would be much better if they weren't gross so she does try to keep on top of cleaning up. And Giselle certainly doesn't mind making herself at home in someone else's house, even cleaning up for them when they don't.
Due to recent events with Richard she's learned what anger was and how to want something more than the fairy tale love she always wanted. While the anger isn't something that lasts long Giselle is now capable of it. Sometimes she can even get a bit distracted from it from the sheer fact of "look I'm angry". She's also started to question her relationship with Edward. Mostly from the fact that she's having feelings for Richard. So she's putting off going home to Andalasia with Edward to get married. Wanting to have something more like a real relationship where they share the same interests and such. She's also learned that sometimes relationships fall apart and that makes her so very sad.
۞ Magical Powers, Skills, and Weapons:
Giselle doesn't really have any special abilities or even weapons.
۞ Other Abilities:
She has a wonderful singing voice and can summon woodland creatures to her when she needs them. Giselle can also do housework such as cleaning and cooking. She can also sew and makes all of her dresses. While in Andalasia - Giselle could understand the talking animals and when she was transported to real life even though they couldn't talk anymore she still did pretty well understanding them.

[Here is a familiar face. Maybe. She certainly looks familiar but there may be something a bit off about her.]
Oh! I'm here again. It was like I'd never come here, I couldn't remember Ever After at all. How long was I gone?
[A short pause.]
How long have I been gone? Snow, Alice, Rapunzel, Aurora? Are you all still here? I wonder if I could get my job back. Oh, I hope she's not terribly angry with me for disappearing like that.
۞ Third Person Sample:
Never before had she seen such decorations! Despite the fact that the weather was getting chilly the marketplace was still so full of life, of energy and cheer. She spun trying to take everything in at once but it just wasn’t enough. A pumpkin nearly met its fate as her elbow came close to knocking it off of the worktable. It wobbled and threatened to tip over but she managed to catch it and set it back down. “Oh dear, I’m terribly sorry.” Giselle addressed the burly man behind the counter with a little curtsy. He returned it with a gruff grunt before turning back to his bellows.
Leaning down she took a closer look at the face on the pumpkin, attempting to imitate it. Even though Giselle was sure she looked silly but several children nearby laughed and she laughed along with them. Moving along an old woman gave her a pink aster flower that she inhaled deeply before tucking it into the hair of a young girl who seemed to be trailing behind her. The girl giggled before turning around and running to what was surely her mother.
As she continued wandering down the streets simply taking in the sights Giselle began to hum a little song. Others seemed to join in even though they didn’t really know the tune but it seemed to work. However it stopped the moment she witnessed an old man who was struggling with a huge bag of corn he was attempting to carry into the village to sell. Rushing over she stooped to pick up the few ears that had fallen and attempted to roll away. “Here you are, sir.”
He looked at them the husks muddy and damaged showing the yellow little pieces of corn beneath. “No one will buy those when they look like that.”
“Goodness! Is that so?” She looked down at them. “They can still be used, just clean them up before cooking them.”
“Don’t got time to clean them before I sell the rest of these. I have to get back before dark and I still have to buy next year’s seeds. Now I won’t be able to buy as much.”
“Oh, that’s terrible.” Giselle frowned. The man looked as if he had traveled a long way and worked hard to grow this food. An idea popped into her mind. “I’ll buy them! How much are they?”
The farmer blinked over at her before telling her a price. She reached into her bag that held the money and counted it out. “Is this enough?”
“Sure is. Thank you kindly, miss. I won’t forget this.” He gave her a toothy grin before finally moving on. Giselle continued on with her new purchases, wondering just what she would do with armful of corn. Oh! She could always cook them up with other foods and invite some people to join her for a meal. Yes, that was a wonderful idea! A smile settled on her face as she started looking for other things to eat. Once again humming as she set about her task.
