Game Background: Lenalee's history in A Facility
Thirteen months Lenalee was stuck in a space torture facility as a clone of the real Lenalee. When she learned about being a clone it had been hard but she's accepted that she won't ever get back to that life and was looking forward to having something better when they reached the planet they were heading for. As a clone it should be noted that their chemical makeup is unstable and can cause them to go unconscious (or clone sickness) and sometimes even lead to death.
She suffered and survived through terrible things but kept her determination to stay alive for the most part. People she cared for were lost and her world has come close to crumbling down around her. The scars of that run deeper than any she's received over the year.
But her physical changes should be noted. While she started her year with shoulder-length hair it has now completely grown out again. Her skin is paler than it should be from the inadequate artificial light and her form is slightly thinner as their food supplies grew lean. She's acquired several scars that Lenalee attempts to keep hidden with clothes at all times. And she'll even come in with fresh injuries as the station crash-landed on a planet ahead of schedule due to an asteroid storm damaging the giant ship.
Personality:
Most of the time Lenalee is a kind and somewhat cheerful individual, who enjoys just being able to be with those she sees as family. When she’s at the Black Order she feels as if it’s her home mostly because of the people who are always there and worries for those who get sent out. This kindness can extend to people outside of the Order as Lenalee does fight to put an end to Akuma who are attacking innocent people or even those allies that she seems to be able to connect with such as Anita.
Yet it wasn’t always this way as her young life as an Exorcist was very traumatic to the point of scarring. Certain people from Lenalee’s past have a very negative effect on the girl. Some of them cause her to be petrified in their presence and even make her try to hide from them. When she was upset she used to hide out in Kanda’s room and even attempted meditation. Lately Lenalee’s slowly been coming out of her emotional shell by letting people in and caring for them in return.
If people were to know of the way she sees the world then they might think her selfish and maybe she is just a little. Her world consists of the people she cares about and as long as they’re safe then she couldn’t care about anything else. This actually makes her world fairly small and every time she loses someone it’s as if someone’s destroyed a piece of it. Due to this she can actually have a short temper as her family is often in danger and seem to take perilous risks. When Allen rushed to kill a self-destructing Akuma in order to save the soul inside Lenalee stopped him because she didn’t want to see him die as well. She stayed angry with him until he finally apologized days later.
The whole reason Lenalee fights is so that she can stand with her friends, so that she can protect them and keep them safe. It’s actually the reason she wanted to take back her Innocence when her synchronization rate was so low that she would be in danger of being a Fallen One. She made a promise to the Innocence and to God that she would fight as long as needed just so long as she could return to Komui’s side. No matter what happens Lenalee will try to believe in her friends even if she’s not always sure of her own decisions, even if at first that faith is shaken by events, in the end she’ll always come out with a stronger conviction.
Since her entire world revolves around the family and friends she’s made in the Order Lenalee has recurring nightmares of everyone dying around her. This often shakes her and can leave her quite vulnerable when she thinks one of them is going to die or even after one of them has died. These days she doesn’t hold back if she needs to cry, at least if it’s in front of someone she cares for and trusts. If she’s faced with someone she despise, such as someone from the darker side of her past, Lenalee wouldn’t want them to see her tears so she’d try to hold it in.
Due to her brother’s antics Lenalee can be quite stern sometimes and unmovable on some things, such as when he’s built a robot that’s gone out of control and is destroying everything. She has no issue beating it down despite her brother’s protests or the fact that he will stand in the way of any incoming attacks. This doesn’t just stop with her brother as Lenalee has taken on this firm stance against those she considers family as well. Though she may not hold back on her physical hits in order to get the boys in line, she only does it for their own good.
Surprisingly, despite her occupation as an Exorcist, Lenalee is actually very superstitious. When Lavi and Allen told her that they were about to face down a vampire she told them not to get bitten or they’d become vampires as well and meant it. Though it proved not to be true and Lenalee became good friends with said ‘vampire’. Let’s not forget the time when nearly the entire Order had been turned into some experimental zombies, including her.
Previous Game Changes:
Over the year in the Facility Lenalee has suffered some personality changes. While she'd always been dependent on the people who make up her world, Lenalee has gripped them tighter then ever before. This is because she's lost some of them, namely her brother, who was always such a big part of her world and is afraid of losing the others. Because of the fact that they're all clones and die upon termination, it's something she's come to fear because she can't even lie to herself and say they've gone home. So whenever one of her family/friends went comatose, Lenalee spent a lot of her time sitting beside them, willing them to wake up.
It also makes her fight harder to keep them alive and with her because there's no telling if they'll ever wake up from one of their deaths. She'll let herself get hurt, or hurt herself to ensure they stay alive like she did when trapped with Kanda. This is how she lost one of her kidneys and gallbladder. But Lenalee is also tougher because of it, actually capable of doing this to herself without much hesitation. Sacrifice is something she's very willing to do for the people she cares about.
While Lenalee is aware that she's a clone and the 4th version of herself, she hasn't exactly fully accepted the fact. She has to the point where she doesn't try to get home anymore and was more then willing to settle down and make a home for herself where ever she was. But faced with the original of herself would definitely be hard for her to accept and would cause a breakdown. Until then, though, Lenalee can casually brush off thoughts like that. She also has not had to face the idea of original versions of people she cares about but when she does, it'll likely be that she separates them in her mind. While they are pretty much exact copies of themselves the originals won't have memories and feelings of the ones she spent the last year with. Facing someone who may have been terminated and brought back was something of a fearful thing for Lenalee, knowing that they might not have the same memories.
On the subject of her relationships, they've grown stronger with the people she spent a year with. She started a relationship with Fac!Allen and even spent time with Inspector Link on her own. Though Lenalee would not be able to bring herself to be the same with any other version of her friends. It was her that tried to get them all to have dinner together like a family at least once a week (though they tried to do it every day) when everyone was available, no matter how terrible the experiments were. Though thanks to living alone for half the time she was there, Lenalee's not quite used to sharing her private space with anyone. However, she didn't hesitate to ask if she couldn't be alone.
Abilities:
Lenalee's known in her world as an Exorcist and as such she's an Accommodator for an Anti-Akuma weapon known as Innocence. These weapons are generally used for fighting against Akuma but Lenalee's used hers on the out-of-control robots Komui builds. Hers were first known as a equipment-type up until the point when her synchronization rates fell and it was taken from her temporarily. Now after merging with her Innocence they've become what's classified as a crystal-type even though it's actually a metal that hasn't been identified. It's believed that so long as she has blood in her body then she will always have her Innocence even if it shatters. When activated it forms a pair of thigh-high, stiletto boots with a thick knee-pad and cuisses for her upper thighs. Her weapon, also known as the Dark Boots, allows her to leap through the air and perform graceful aerial acrobats. They also increase leg strength which makes her hits harder and land a lot easier. Even without the boots activated Lenalee can move faster than an normal person.
Ever since her Innocence evolved they seem to react to her thoughts more than her orders. This set also changes when she wants to move faster. Butterfly wings unfurl from the heels boosting her speed quite a bit. As of yet no special techniques have been named for her new enhanced Innocence or if there will even be any with it as it responds to her thoughts. Since it's the same weapon it's likely that she could have the same techniques as before.
Enbu Kirikaze: (Waltz: Mist-Wind) - Using this technique causes a destructive wind tunnel to form.
Onkyou no Tougi: Otokase (Stepping Skill of Sound: Sound Shackles) - With this technique Lenalee becomes able to interact with sound waves as if they were stepping stones. It allows her to move at the speed of sound.
Suijou no Tougi: Mizukase (Stepping Skill of Water: Sound Shackles) - Just like with sound Lenalee can stand on liquid as if it was solid surface.
Shittsui no Tougi: Tetsukase (Falling Footwork: Iron Shackles) - If she should ever use maximum invocation this technique becomes available to her. All of her power focuses in on her Dark Boots and forms heavy blades. However, the first and only time she used this Lenalee was able to summon them for a time and lost quite a bit of strength in her legs. Upon inspection it was found that her synchronization fell below 10% and her Innocence had to be removed for a time.
Sample Entries: Post and a log.
This was not happening. Could not be happening. From one place of torture to another was not what Lenalee had been expecting when the ship crash landed on the planet. She was sitting on the edge of her new bed with the scrap of paper in her hand. Had that world really been destroyed? Hard to tell but she was sure she'd seen daylight for a brief moment. Real daylight with warmth spreading across her face before she'd blacked out again. It had been a brief moment of happiness before waking up here with yet another collar around her neck. What other reason could she need the collar for but as a way to track their test subjects? One thing was certain, she did not trust the letter.
Lenalee knew what she had to do, she had to find the others. They had to be here somewhere. They had to be. She wasn't sure she could survive this place without them. First things first. The paper was wadded up into a ball and she scanned the other one before tucking it under her pillow, best to save that one for later. After standing up she went to the trunk at the end of the bed and opened it, relieved to find some of the items she'd had before. A red dress was pulled out and on over her head quickly before she dug through the rest of the items. Clothes mostly, the stuff she had on her during the crash but there was something yellow and vibrating at the bottom and Lenalee pulled it out.
"Henri! You made it." She hugged the little fuzzy creature to her chest. The tribble made happy trilling noises. It was then she noticed that neither Yuàn or Zhili was anywhere about and the thought made her heart ache. Still, she had a piece of her brother and that was enough. Though there was something else moving in there and after putting Henri on her shoulder, she dug it out. Out popped Jingji, fluttering up out of the trunk and hitting the ceiling accidentally. The golem dropped back down almost crashing to the ground but it caught itself and came to hover at her shoulder. It wasn't the smartest golem ever created but Jingji was comforting to see anyway.
Satisfied that there was nothing else living in the trunk, Lenalee closed it, figuring she could go through it all later. Time to find out if anyone else had made it. Standing up, she straightened her dress and left her shared room. Every opened door was peeked into, looking for familiar faces. She'd even take someone that she'd seen on the network but never talked to. Just anyone who'd come from that station they'd all been on. If she was lucky then the whole entire thing would just be another stunt pulled by that crazy AI. Half an hour of wandering aimlessly showed Lenalee that she may not find anyone without contacting them somehow. So she reached a hand out to gently tap a shoulder or arm. Pay no mind to the yellow tribble purring away on her shoulder or the little black thing with wings hovering over her head.
"Excuse me, I'm new here and I was wondering if you could tell me how to get in contact with people I might know," she said with a polite smile.
