Personality:

When Ai is seen as a child she is a relatively carefree individual. She doesn't have any real worries about the world and grows up fairly happily. There are no terrible dangers she has to face like her mother before her and while the world is not entirely stable, her mother and adopted family ensure that Ai doesn't have to suffer any hardships. Ai laughs and cries, plays and gets into mischief much like any other child would. A sense of being slightly spoiled comes with that too. As a daughter of a pair of pureblood vampires, Ai was well aware of her status growing up but it was always made to seem as if she wasn't really that much better to lesser vampires or humans. Due to that upbringing, she is very down-to-earth when it comes to dealing with others whether they're vampires or not. She is extremely blunt and straight-forward. Never has Ai held back what she's thought about a situation or how it might fluster someone else. As a child, she never hesitated to find out about someone's personal life if she was curious about it or to overshare information about her mother and even more recently has gotten involved in the relationship between her mother and Zero. Being so bold as to say she wanted a little sister from the pair of them straight to their faces. She also wouldn't hesitate to hide in the bushes to spy on them even if they knew she was there. On the more nobler side, it also means that she would speak up if she ever saw an injustice unfolding before her. Even without the strength she has, Ai would rush to someone's rescue if they were in need and stand up to bullies or enemies alike without batting an eye. On the other side of that, Ai does know how to keep things to herself. Secrecy has been an essential part of her life since she was young. While the knowledge of vampires is no longer kept from the world, it wasn't particularly a great idea to go around proclaiming that she was a pureblood to everyone she met. Some humans and even hunters weren't fond of vampires and so Ai has learned when to speak up and when to stay quiet. This served her well when she came to love Zero Kiryuu at the age of eight - not the sort of love one felt for a parent but for a man. While Ai did confess this to him, she did not tell it to anyone else though it was hard for her to hide it from her mother considering their close relationship. However, it wasn't ever something that Ai actually spoke about to her mother. Ai is a very kind individual to most people she meets and will go out of her way to help someone, not just when she sees them in trouble but anytime. While she may not be the most outgoing of people she certainly is friendly when she wants to be. Her interactions with others weren't exactly great growing up as there weren't a whole lot of other children she could really interact with. It was even to the point where she had an exchange diary with Zero where she was supposed to write about herself but instead wrote about her mother. Most of her interactions growing up were with her parent's friends so they were all older than her. Even so, Ai has close bonds with all of them because of it and considers them to be like family to her. Zero too was one of those individuals as he was often a playmate for her. While her social skills are finely polished, getting truly connected to someone is something that's a little rough. Though she is great at dragging others into trouble with her on occasion. Due to having grown up with only one parent a lot of her traits do mimic her mother. Yuuki was her role model and since her mother is so expressive, Ai can be too. However, it is not the only part of her parents that Ai has. Her father was a calm and collected man, never revealing too many of his emotions and excelling at hiding what he was thinking. He had an excellent poker face in most situations and Ai has inherited this from him. While she can be animated and open with someone, Ai can also shut down. Become a master of her emotions and actions so that it's impossible for another person to tell what is on her mind. At this point in her life, it is something she's completely perfected but should someone get to know her well enough they may be able to pick up on the smallest quirks. It's only when she's comfortable with someone does she open up to them. When it's time to get serious, Ai gets serious. Gone is the animated girl who speaks her mind and in its place is someone who has a soul much older than her physical body. She is very much alike her father although she does try her best not to manipulate people in any way even though it would be easy enough for her to do with her abilities. Ai also got her father's smarts and learned very quickly at a very young age. When she was three she was asking deep questions and wanted to know the answers to them. And when she was five, Ai could already write grammatically correct and complete sentences. This part of her was encouraged along by the individuals in her life. Being surrounded by those who were academically intelligent allowed for Ai to flourish as well since if she ever had a question, all she had to do was ask one of them. Due to that she is extremely interested in learning and will go out of her way to study. Trying new experiences are also something she enjoys now that she's at an age where she is no longer hanging on to her mother's skirt or extremely pampered by everyone else around her. She even attended school of her own accord rather than simply being homeschooled. The way Ai sees it, if she has the lifespan to learn and try everything then she is going to take the opportunity presented to her. Ai has also always been rather observant. As a child she was able to pick up on the emotions and struggles of the people around her, wanting to attend soirees so that she could be along with her mother. Of course, she noticed Zero's feelings for her mother and her mother's loneliness. What's more is that Ai realized her own feelings to be true and yet put them aside so that her mother and Zero could be happy one day. She also doesn't let herself get distracted by her feelings that she forgets her own duties. Even at her age, Ai may tend to have mood swings but she is a very responsible-minded young woman. Ai may not like being essentially the vampire world's beloved princess who is expected to deal with various problems but she will do it if necessary. She is currently the last pureblood of the Kuran family at her canon point so Ai has been taught how to do it as well. She has been taught to be fair with her judgments and be strict when it's called for and use every tool available to her. Being in school and taking up the role of school guardian was a good experience for her. She took this duty seriously and will drop everything to prevent an intruder from entering the school grounds without permission. Once Ai sets her mind to do something, it will be taken care of and she will do the job thoroughly. Ai's feelings towards her parents is a big messy complication and should be touched on. Being raised by a "single" mother, she respects Yuuki and loves her immensely. She looks up to her and is very much aware that Yuuki has a lot of responsibility put on her shoulders at a young age. Not only was Yuuki suddenly a pureblood vampire but she lost the one she loved and became pregnant while still a teenager. A pregnancy that lasted four years. Her mother had attempted to make sure that Ai always felt loved and wanted and knew about her father. It's only natural that she loves her mother just as much in return and wants her to be happy. Her feelings towards her father are different but that's due to the fact that he's been encased in ice all her life. She only knew him from other people's stories, memories, and visits to where he rested. Despite her mother's reassurances, Ai is uncertain as to how he'll feel about her when he wakes up. Now that he is, her father has no memory of his life - of her mother and she's taken it upon herself to look after him. Even though he is technically far older than her, he isn't exactly the parent she thought she'd get as he is essentially learning about the world and those who loved him. As if that wasn't complicated enough then comes her 'papa' - Zero. During her younger years that is all Ai saw him as even though he tried to stop her and tell her who her father really was. It didn't matter to her, he was her papa. Then she grew up. Child-like love formed into something different and Ai knew it. Knew she loved him differently. At the same time, she was aware of how he felt towards Yuuki and that in her own way - Yuuki loved him back. So for the sake of her mother's happiness, Ai has thrown away her love and attempted to see him as her other father again. Eventually, the two older vampires finally became a couple and Ai got a younger sibling out of it. Ai is exceptionally close to Ren, her brother being the one person who truly knows her these days and she relies on him to be by her side. They share a good sibling relationship, both with depending on each other and also capable of being playful. She isn't even mad that she got a brother instead of the sister she wanted.

Abilities:

Ai is a pureblood vampire, which makes her the elite of the elite of vampires from her world. Her parents were pureblood vampires and their parents and so on. As such it gives her a social standing above all others from her world which is not entirely important in a new one but it does mean that her abilities are greater than others as well. Telekinesis - when experiencing extreme emotional distress, she may lash out with telekinesis to destroy nearby objects. Erase memories - Ai is capable of erasing memories from both humans and vampires, though rarely does this unless she has a reason. Turning a vampire into a human (at cost of own life) - both her grandmother and her mother have shown that by sacrificing their own lives, they can turn a vampire into a human. She can even do this to another pureblood but it's very likely that she won't. Turning a human into a vampire from biting (Level E or D) - all it takes is a bite for her to turn someone. The process of creating a vampire is extremely painful and unless she allows them to drink her blood in return they will eventually go mad. This is not something Ai would do casually and would either be getting her blood from her family or drinking it from a cup/bag. Immortality - as a pureblood, Ai actually has an even greater lifespan than other vampires. Already she's been alive for over a thousand years and both of her grandparents were at least 3,000. Her father is technically even older than that being around 10,000 and is extremely difficult to kill. She can't get sick or contract any sort of illnesses, and while she is sensitive to daylight - it can be managed by taking shelter in shaded areas or having a good umbrella. It's believed that a pureblood will only die if they are murdered or commit suicide. Regenerative capabilities - Ai has enhanced regenerative capabilities. Wounds would heal instantly, limbs would reattach themselves unless the injury was made by an anti-vampire weapon. So long as her head and heart remain whole, Ai could regenerate from any wound though it may require her to enter a long, deep sleep. Enhanced strength - despite her size, Ai is actually one of the strongest individuals in her world. Only other purebloods would be capable of going against her strength straight on. She could easily throw a full-grown man over her shoulder and not find it heavy. Awkward maybe due to how small she is but still capable. Enhanced speed - Ai is fast, capable of moving at speeds no ordinary human could reach. While she may never be as speedy as certain characters, humans would definitely have a hard time keeping her in sight if she were to get moving. Enhanced reflexes - her reflexes and agility are beyond normal as well, allowing her to react to anything that might suddenly come her way. Enhanced senses (sight, smell, hearing) - as a vampire, she has all of the enhanced senses as well. Capable of smelling blood from a fair good distance away, hearing sounds that are miles from her location, being able to see in the dark. Elemental manipulation - some nobility and purebloods have shown the ability to manipulate various elements such as fire, ice, electricity, even blood and their own bodies. Ai has yet to reveal where her abilities lie but her mother and uncle have shown they can manipulate their blood while her father and grandfather have manipulated their own flesh. Blood has healing properties - due to her pureblood status, Ai's blood has healing capabilities. If someone were to consume it their wounds would heal, illnesses and disease. They would also gain enhanced strength and senses though they may become addicted - no matter whether they're human or vampire. Control humans and vampires alike - while merely being a pureblood is enough for some vampires from her world to do as she commands, Ai actually has the ability to make them. She's gained enough control over this to not do it on accident but she can order a vampire to leave and never return. Or she can use this ability to put someone to sleep. Absorb powers of other vampires through drinking their blood - basically what it says on the tin. Ai can gain powers and strength from other vampires should she drink their blood. Familiar - Ai can literally create a familiar to do her bidding for her. This takes the form of a wolf-like her father or a nighthawk bird and it basically acts like another self in animal form. It can be an extra set of eyes and ears or perform various tasks. Of course, they can also attack and then break apart if hit. Can wield anti-vampire weapons - those of the Kuran bloodline are capable of wielding anti-vampire weapons, though most of them were destroyed by her father before Ai was even born. For the most part, they tend to have an affinity towards a transforming rod called Artemis though she's never had the opportunity to use it. Can sense non-humans - for the most part, this is mostly for those who are vampires as it is what Ai has experience with best but she will be able to tell if someone is generally not completely human. NOTE: I will have a permission form up for various abilities Ai has, though it's most likely that she won't be using the more god-modey ones without good reason.

There has been a lot of grief and joy in Ai's life - both what she has experienced and also what has come from those around her. As a child, she could see her mother's grief over losing the one person she loved most, and she tried to help her mother shoulder that as well. There were also times of joy too, times when they could just be happy.
