Phasing - the ability to phase through solid matter without being harmed. This means anything from a simple pencil to a human being once she learns how to control it. Most of the time Penny will use this ability to walk through doors/walls of her friends' places so she doesn't have to deal with knocking but also as a defense against enemies that might attack her. With practice she'll not only be able to phase her entire body but just certain body parts like an arm or a leg. Eventually she may even learn to extend her ability to a person that she has a grip on but it may take time to work up to that.

Character Personality:

Penny is a very outgoing and social party girl. She doesn’t have any trouble making friends or finding someone to go out with on boring evenings. While it’s not unusual for her to have plans to visit some kind of night club in order to drink, find a guy or just hang with the girls she also spends a lot of time with her close friends. It doesn’t seem all that difficult to balance spending time with all of her friends even if one group wouldn’t get along with another. In fact, her social skills are exceptional compared to her nerdy friends due to her rather outgoing personality. Penny is also pretty girly with the way she acts, dresses and even has things like Hello Kitty belongings but she was raised as a boy by her dad who always wanted a boy. She was a tomboy until she grew boobs at the age of twelve and her dad finally had to accept that she was a girl and it kind of hurt her to lose that relationship. There are times when she still retains a bit of that, such as her abrasive words and tactics to deal with things but for the most part she’s still a girly-girl who likes dressing up pretty, who feels insecure about her body every now and then and has the emotional breakdown when things are very overwhelming. So to go with all of her normal activities Penny exercises, jogging to be specific, to keep up her girlish figure.

This girl’s best defense is sarcasm and she wields it well against any and everyone she needs to. She uses it when she’s mad, confused, stumped, upset or really just anytime she wants, especially when she can’t tell someone the truth as she’s an exceptionally bad liar. It works well against most of her closest friends as they don’t always recognize sarcasm when faced with it, Sheldon especially though he is getting better. Despite being a master of sarcasm she’s actually a really bad liar, as shown during the time when Amy commissioned a huge portrait of the two of them. Penny tried to lie that she loved it and would hang it up in her living room but when Amy left the apartment she took it down because she hated it. Eventually she was found out and it was a huge mess but Penny made it right.

That particular moment goes hand-in-hand with her rare bouts of insensitivity towards people. Sometimes Penny doesn’t realize when she’s being mean to someone with her sarcasm, attempted lies and occasionally not including people in some of the moments in her life. However when it’s pointed out to her like when Bernadette and Penny went out shopping for bridesmaid dresses and a wedding gown they didn’t invite Amy along and the woman was hurt enough to say something. Both girls tried to make it up to her as they felt really bad about it and in the end Bernadette made Amy her Maid of Honor. She also has issues dealing with serious relationships. When Leonard told her that he loved her Penny flipped out and broke up with him for a long while. And later when he asked her to marry him it got her upset to the point where they started taking jabs at each other. Yet despite all of her own issues with relationships that never seem to last all of her friends come to her to get advice on their own. While she generally sides with her girlfriends it doesn’t mean she won’t help out the guys too. Most of her relationships actually haven’t lasted and Penny is often seeing another guy shortly after breaking up with a boyfriend.

Penny is also pretty sassy with her friends, sometimes poking fun at them playfully and on occasion it does go too far but she always apologizes for that. She enjoys joking with them even if she doesn’t always get their nerd jokes. They have a fairly good relationship as Penny often eats dinner with them, walks in with barely a knock, asks them for technology help and they can get her roped into doing their nerd stuff from time to time. Yet Penny doesn’t like to see someone take advantage of her friends that way and had a knock-down fight with a new girl who did exactly that. This shows that she has an immensely loyal side to them and would fight to protect them. There have also been times when Penny fights their battles for them such as when Sheldon lost some of his stuff to an internet bully. She kicked the bully in the nuts and made him give all of the stuff back; she’s also willing to go out of her way to do things for them making her a pretty loyal friend when things get tough.

One of Penny’s many flaws (according to Sheldon) is that she’s fairly messy. Her apartment is very much cluttered with her clothes and belongings in places they shouldn’t be but it doesn’t bother her to live that way at all. In fact, she knows where everything is even when it’s a giant mess. Nothing about Penny is all that organized as she often uses her paycheck to buy clothes instead of rent or wi-fi. There’s even one occurrence where she has to borrow a bunch of money from Sheldon and often uses the boys’ internet and eats the food they buy. However, Penny is very reluctant to actually borrow money and it tends to put her on edge when she owes someone. She becomes defensive and works overtime even when there’s not any pressure to return the money. Even after she had paid it back she continued to show that she doesn’t actually like to owe people actual money as she said she would pay for Sheldon’s ticket if he didn’t cash it like the rest of his checks. Though a lot of the time it doesn’t occur to her that by eating other food other people bought or using wi-fi other people pay for so she doesn’t really feel that indebted to them for that unless it gets pointed out.

At times Penny can be kind and compassionate towards her friends that result in her doing things that she wouldn’t normally like take care of them when they’re sick and even sing “Soft Kitty” to Sheldon. Sometimes she does things a little grudgingly but Penny could never just abandon one of her friends in their time of need. Generally if she somehow gets tricked into doing something she doesn’t take it very well and turns things around on them, usually by siccing Sheldon on them. To be honest, Penny can be quite scary when angered and sometimes they refer to her as the Hulk. When she is mad there’s no holding back what comes out of her mouth and it ends badly for everyone involved. By this point everyone has learned not to wake her and Penny actually has a rule about not knocking before a certain time that everyone knows well.

Like a lot of humanity Penny is a stubborn individual that doesn’t easily bend to what other people believe. She’s a firm believer in standing her ground even if she believes in something as ridiculous as horoscopes. Of course this doesn’t just go for her astrological sign but all as the aspiring actress that she hopes to be. It’s the whole reason she moved out to California from Nebraska. While she hasn’t made it yet Penny hasn’t given up on her dream and keeps auditioning for things no matter how small or deeming. She claims that waiting tables at the Cheesecake Factory is only temporary and she won’t give up on her dream. Penny even takes acting classes to help further her skills despite the fact that she’s lived in Pasadena for several years and hasn’t gotten an acting job yet.

Another of her many flaws (pointed out by Sheldon and Amy) is that she’s a terrible driver and that she probably shouldn’t have a license to drive as she ignores speed bumps, lost her passenger side mirror, doesn’t get it looked at regularly and of course – drives too fast. Sometimes Penny also makes bad choices like dating blockheaded boyfriends who are giant jerks and after breaking up with them invites them to a party anyway. Or when she got a Chinese tattoo that she was told meant courage when it actually translated to soup. So yes, sometimes she is a little naïve to believe things so easily but Penny isn’t stupid even if hanging around her friends make her feel and look that way. But she does not like being looked down at intellectually just because she didn’t finish community college. When Leonard tried to say she could enroll in college again she was genuinely offended and became angry with him. She firmly believes that just because she doesn’t have the same intellect her friends do does not make her stupid. And Penny is smart in her own way by having a social life where she realizes some of the stuff that’s happening in the world – especially with pop culture which is an area most of her guy friends lack.

Due to her relationship with her friends Penny has become a little bit of a nerd like them. Early on she joined them in Halo night where she was so good instantly that she kept killing Sheldon. And she can get addicted to a MMORPG game that she forgets to go to work, doesn’t shower and spends all the time on the computer. She’s also been known to watch some of the shows and movies that she might not have watched on her own like Star Wars, Star Trek and even anime. Sometimes she even surprises herself when she accidentally quotes one such movie to someone and she definitely surprises the group too. Sheldon has discovered that Penny can be trained like an animal by rewarding her “good behavior” as he sees it. She doesn’t even realize when it happens but if she does then watch out. The saying “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” definitely applies to Penny as she can hold grudges against people who wrong her. She and Sheldon have gone after each other when they had a disagreement and they did it in the most ruthless ways.

There’s something to say about all of her relationships with all of her friends as each one brings its own complications to her life. First is the on-again/off-again sometimes boyfriend, Leonard. For the longest time she was aware that he liked her and flirted with her constantly but he just wasn’t her type. Then suddenly everything about him was suddenly sweet and exactly what she needed but he’s often ruining it by making statements that could advance their relationship that she’s just not ready for. After their first break-up she claimed that he ruined every other guy for her because they all look stupid and shallow compared to him. It also put a strain on her relationship with everyone else to the point where Sheldon actually had to sneak around to hang out with Penny. It’s clear that her relationship with Leonard is the strongest one she has with the group though she has formed stronger bonds with everyone else since that break-up. When they’re together they’re actually really happy with each other and spend quite a bit of their time together. She’s over at the boy’s apartment more than usual and annoying Sheldon by disrupting his schedule.

Sheldon is that annoying little brother she kind of doesn’t want all of the time. He is the one who usually says things that she just can’t understand and sometimes his habits drive her crazy. When she has to do things for him Penny’s patience wears thin pretty easily as he always has to have some sort of criticism. Yet it’s their relationship that’s come the farthest out of everyone as Penny is one of the few people outside of his family that he hugs. They have moments where they just click despite being such opposites and there’s no doubt that they wouldn’t do things to help the other out. She’s even started to do things like point out to people where they shouldn’t sit or that they shouldn’t ask about something because it sets him off. Of course that counts for nothing because they just love picking on each other the most. He points out her flaws and she gives him sarcasm that he can’t always grasp. Often times people have to translate Sheldonese for her because a lot of what he says goes straight over her head. All-in-all they have a love-hate relationship that bounces all over the place and while it might seem bad to someone looking at them from the outside world, they’re both comfortable with what they have.

From day one Raj and Howard have been like one package for Penny as Raj can’t actually talk to women so whispers everything to his friend while in her presence. At first Penny didn’t like Howard at all as he was always making crude jokes in her direction and there was never much to feel towards Raj as he didn’t talk. Over time she became closer with both of them but still turned down Howard’s advances and even talked to Raj (generally when he’d been drinking). It wasn’t until Howard and Bernadette made up after a fight that she really started liking Howard more as he had been so very sweet. And Penny freaked out after waking up naked to Raj after a night of drinking but appreciated it when he clarified that they didn’t actually sleep together. She was clearly worried about Howard when they all sat around to watch the rocket launch.

As for Bernadette she was actually Penny’s friend from work before the smaller woman was anyone else’s friend or girlfriend. They actually have a fairly normal relationship compared to the ones Penny has with the rest of the group. While Bernadette may now have a PhD she often doesn’t flaunt it (whether accidentally or on purpose) and is rather humble about her intellect which makes it easier for Penny to be around, not to mention that they both have good social skills. If asked she would refer to Bernadette as one of her best friends who she could go out and party with.

The relationship she has with Amy was incredibly weird at first, especially when they all realized just how much she was like Sheldon. It grew ever weirder when Amy proclaimed that she and Penny were besties and made comments that kind of creeped Penny out. However after some bumps in the road she would definitely say that Amy was her other best friend even she still finds some things a little uncomfortable because of Amy’s blunt statements. It took some adjusting, some trial and errors but they can definitely do things that they both like to do even if watching Amy cut up a brain makes her sick. Sometimes it takes an extra effort not to hurt Amy’s feelings because of how lonely her friend had been growing up but she always tries to make up for it if she does because she does like Amy.

Character Plans: Penny will be doing her best to remain neutral and trying to get an actressing job even though she will most likely end up busing tables at a restaurant somewhere. Of course she will playing "babysitter" with Sheldon and a lot of the people he offends and she will be harassing looking after him considering Penny is the "tough guy" in the group of nerds. She'll get herself some girlfriends and go drinking, dancing, general partying - and some guy friends who she might or might not date depending on how much time passes without her sort-of boyfriend.

Appearance/PB: Penny is played by the beautiful Kaley Cuoco

[There's one annoyed looking blond woman in the Towers lobby sitting on the bottom step during the darkness hours. Is she annoyed at being pulled here? Yes. Is she irritated because she can't get home? Definitely.]

Canada. No wonder we come through feeling like the morning after you had a bad date and tried to drown out the memories in the bottom of an alcohol bottle just to get through the talking part and get to the bedroom part. If it wasn't for that I'd think I was dreaming.

[Penny pauses, leaning her elbows on her knees trying to collect her thoughts. She laughs, because it's better than crying or yelling or hitting something.]

What those people told me is crazy, just crazy and now I can't even go out to get a drink. I'd say I don't believe them but just look at it! [With that she motions to the Darkness outside, giving everyone a view.]

Someone please book me a ticket back to Pasadena. [There's sarcasm in that sentence because she's been told there is no transportation off the island.

She goes to end the feed but stops.]
I suppose I should ask if anyone's seen a few people I know, seeing as how it's Wednesday here and Wednesday is Halo night so they won't respond to this themselves. I'm looking for a group of scientists - one Dr. Leonard Hofstadter, one Dr. Sheldon Cooper, one Dr. Rajesh Koothrappali, one Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler and one Mrs. Howard Rostenkowski Wolowitz. [Penny can't keep the smile from her face at that last one and she doesn't care that it's supposed to be "Dr" instead of "Mrs". The smile slides from her face after a moment.] Oh and I guess if Howard's here too then I'd like to know.

"Holy crap on a cracker," just so happened to be the first words out of her mouth when she appeared on the grass of the baseball diamond. Fingers dug into the dirt as she pushed herself to her hands and knees only to feel the world spin around her as if there had been too much booze. Then the blond proceeded empty her stomach of the salad she'd eaten on break at work. Even after she was done Penny's stomach still churned, threatening to betray her again and for the longest moment she didn't try to move until it was settled a little bit. Finally she lifted her eyes to look around at the area, completely confused as to how she got to a baseball field when she clearly remembered sitting in Leonard and Sheldon's living room with everyone.

She tried to collect her thoughts on what had happened before ending up somewhere far from where she remembered being. Work at the Cheesecake Factory as was evident by the clothes she wore: the white button-up shirt, yellow sweater vest, blue jean skirt and flat slip-on shoes. After she'd raced out to return back to the apartment building and up to the fourth floor into her neighbor's apartment. Penny had arrived just in time to see Howard's rocket launch from Russia and then nothing.

No alcohol to get this sort of reaction unless they'd had so much to drink that she just couldn't remember what had happened next. It was possible but why was she in the middle of a diamond with people well...staring at her? Slowly Penny clamored to her feet, careful so as to make sure the world didn't tilt too suddenly. She brushed the dirt and grass from both her hands and knees in the process. No more drinking to the point where she passed out...at least for a while. Her gaze cut to the area around her but the skyline wasn't something she was familiar with. Great, hungover and lost. This day was just getting better and better.

Penny eyed the people just lingering nearby. "What? You act like you've never seen a grown woman wake up in a field after a night of too much drinking. Take a picture -- it'll last longer." When all else failed biting sarcasm was her best friend and defense.
