IC Information:
Name: Moriyama Shiemi
Fandom: Ao no Exorcist
Timeline: Chapter 34, the end after they have their day off in Kyoto
Age: 15
Appearance:

Shiemi has platinum blond hair that falls down around her shoulders and bangs that cut straight across her forehead. She has bright green eyes and stands at 5'5 while weighing 108 pounds. Normally she wears brightly colored kimonos and geta but she also wears the True Cross Order uniform while on missions which consists of a pleated skirt with belt, a white shirt, a large bow, white thigh-high socks and knee length boots.

Abilities:

Due to her life growing up in her grandmother's garden Shiemi is very knowledgeable about plants. She definitely has a green thumb and thanks to the shop her mother runs she also knows how to use plants to treat injuries. It's this ability that would make her such a good doctor in the True Cross Order but it's not something she's actually aiming for.

Rather, she's aiming to be a Tamer which means she can summon a demon familiar. Her's is an infant Greenman which is exactly how it sounds. He's a small little green-colored human-shaped creature. Shiemi named him Nii-chan and so far they've shown several abilities together such as creating barriers with wood, tree roots, plants to protect their friends or generating an aloe plant to use it to heal injuries. Recently Nii-chan was able to absorb the surrounding grass to grow larger than Shiemi but that's only temporary. Using several of Nii-chan's big abilities really drains the girl's energy to the point where she's passed out yet the stronger she gets the longer she can stay awake but she does keep him around all the time.

Personality:

Shiemi is a very shy person, sometimes almost cripplingly so. This is due to the fact that she spent most of her youth tucked away from people. While she has been getting better about this there are still times when she gets so worked up it causes her to be clumsy. It’s sometimes hard for her to ask to be friends but once she’s made up her mind about being friends, Shiemi will work hard to accomplish it and keep it. When Kamiki was trapped and attempted to tell her that they weren’t friends so Shiemi would save herself, the girl said that she didn’t care. She said that Kamiki was her friend no matter what and later she told Rin that they would be friends forever.

Also because of how she grew up, Shiemi is very naïve. The girl is absolutely clueless about how friendships were supposed to really be and let Kamiki take advantage of her because she believed it was what friends did for each other. When others tried to point it out to her Shiemi would respond that it was okay because she wanted to do it. Not to mention there are times when she’s just clueless about some kinds of things such as when boys might have a crush on her or when a ghost turns out to be a pervert. She also completely ignored the first sign she saw about Rin being a demon after she realized how nice he was. Sometimes people say things to her that aren’t exactly nice or complimentary but Shiemi always tends to overlook it and take it the way she wants to.

When she is able to overcome her shyness Shiemi can be quite outspoken, often telling people exactly what she thinks or feels and doesn’t hesitate to cry if she needs to. While she doesn’t get angry with people outside of her family often it is possible for her to feel close enough to someone to raise her voice and temper. It goes along nicely with her boldness that makes her face things head-on, even when she should be scared. There’s not a lot she won’t confront if it means protecting people.

Despite her shyness Shiemi is a cheerful person, always trying to find a reason to smile or be happy. She manages it most of the time when things aren’t happening around her and sometimes her naivety helps a lot. Shiemi is also very good natured, always trying to see the good in people even if they give her the cold-shoulder or say something mean. When Rin told someone that she wasn’t his friend it had hurt because she had thought that they could be. She’s the type to search for something like a four-leaf clover to give for good luck and always wants to be of some help.

To go with that good nature of hers, Shiemi is also hardworking and determined. She will give up her free time in order to spend it tending to people’s wounds or being of some kind of use. All her life she’s known what it means to get down and dirty for something she believes in and that is a trait that’s carried over to her experiences in the outside world. She poured herself into her grandmother’s garden once she was gone and then again when she saw so many people hurt. There’s nothing she’s not willing to do to be of some help to the people around her. Her determination goes beyond just helping as she’s willing to risk getting hurt to save someone she considers a friend. When it comes down to it, Shiemi wouldn’t abandon someone who needs help – no matter what the circumstances.

With that it’s also important to discuss Shiemi’s loyalty and faith. While there may be times when she feels uncertain about things she will always want to be there for one of her friends. She’s demonstrated it with both Rin and Kamiki by not abandoning either of them when they needed her and it was even her suggestion not to tell on Rin for setting the seats on fire. It was the first time she realized that she wasn’t afraid of his flames and later she pushed away her doubts to help renew Rin’s faith in himself. She told him that she wasn’t afraid of him, that she was sorry and even hugged him to prove it. When his blue flames looked like it they were going to burn down the forest and everyone in it, she was the only one not worried about getting burn, showing just how much faith she has in Rin.

Shiemi is also the sort of person who’s kind and compassionate towards anyone she meets. At least if she isn’t afraid of them. She wants to look after them and do the best she can to help them or be friendly towards them. It doesn’t just stop at people though, as Shiemi cares for plants and beings that may be a little troublesome. Also, she has no problem being stern if someone attempts to go without treatment. Or if two people are fighting with each other unreasonably she will stop them so they can stop yelling and start really talking.

Anyone who knows her will say that’s she’s very eager - eager to learn, to see new things, to try new things, to help out, to make friends and to grow stronger. She can’t always see just how strong she already is though Kamiki recently compared her to a weed with how she keeps trying, keeps going. Her goal is to be strong like Yukio and Rin but there are times when she’s stronger than either of them and just doesn’t know it. The times when she shines the brightest someone always seems to take notice but to her it’s just another step to becoming stronger.

Thanks to her grandmother’s influence Shiemi loves plants, knows how to take care of them. She even believes in the Amahara Garden where God had gathered all of the plants in the world. Her goal is to find it one day and while True Cross Academy had just been a stepping stone to learn more about the world, it’s actually something she’s become dedicated to doing as well. At first she thought she’d do well on the class involving plants but as it turns out, Shiemi gives them all cute little names. She’s been learning their official names but she still prefers the names she’s given them. Thankfully for her, Nii-chan seems to know which plant she really means, even if she does ask for something with a different name.

History:

Two dimensions – one of humans and one of demons - connected like the opposite sides of a coin. Demons can walk freely amongst the humans by possessing anything that exists within it. A group of humans fight back with everything they can and they are known as Exorcists. Shiemi has known of this all of her life as her mother works in a shop that has always provided supplies for the exorcists. As a child she wasn’t strong enough to go to school and with her mother working it meant she was very close to her grandmother who had a beautiful garden. She grew up amongst the plants, learned to care for them, and most importantly learned about the Amahara Garden. Her grandmother told her that it was filled with all of the plants ever known to God. Shiemi was so inspired that she started saving to search the whole world over in order to find this garden and her grandmother encouraged her.

At thirteen she met her first Okumura brother, who had just achieved a teacher’s position, the younger one but when her mother introduced them Shiemi couldn’t do much besides hide behind a door and say hello. As it turned out she went to find him a four-leaf clover for good luck which she presented to him as he was leaving. Yukio insisted that calling him “sempai” was too formal so she gave him the nickname “Yuki-chan”. Then one day when she had saved up a little bit she was so excited that she could travel the world but her grandmother informed her that it would be best just to look close to home this time around. So she did and was gone most of the day. Unfortunately, tragedy struck while Shiemi was gone and her grandmother had an accident in the garden. Blaming herself for it, the young girl took over tending to the garden but knew she couldn’t do it on her own. That’s when a demon came to her, saying that it would help her in the garden if she would protect it. Shiemi agreed and roots started growing in her legs as the demon drained her energy and day-by-day she slowly started to lose the use of her legs.

It was one of the fateful days after when she met the other older Okumura brother who was peeking into her garden since Yukio had come to collect some supplies and see about her legs. Rin touched her demon-barrier gate and it fell off the hinges. At first Shiemi panicked and attempted to get away after calling him a demon but her legs wouldn’t work properly enough for a real escape. Once she calmed down and came to believe that he wasn’t a demon (not knowing it was really the truth) she got him to help her in the garden. As they worked she told him about the Amahara Garden that her grandmother had told her about. It wasn’t long before Yukio came around and asked to take a look at her legs where the demon had taken root. She became emotional over the fact that her mother wanted her leave the garden and collapsed after telling her that she hated her.

They took her to where she’d been living – her grandmother’s storehouse where they left her to rest but by the time she woke up, Rin was there. When they couldn’t see eye-to-eye about Shiemi’s mother or the garden he started destroying the plants and she crawled her way out to make him stop. He asked her what was holding her back and Shiemi told him that if she hadn’t gone out – if she had helped her granny cover the grapes that she’d still be alive – that her granny’s death was her fault. It was Rin that helped her realize what she wanted to do, what her granny would want her to do and Shiemi wanted to be able to walk again. At that very moment Yukio reappeared, saying that he had been waiting for her heart to change and that he would get rid of the demon.

Unfortunately the demon didn’t like that she was going back on her promise and swallowed her up, rendering her unconscious. It was using her as a shield against the boys. While she was unconscious the brother worked together to save Shiemi and it released her when Yukio shot her in the heart with a special bullet while Rin sliced it in half. Free from the demon and its roots, Shiemi could stand again but she hesitated when confronted with her mother. With a helpful hit from Rin and some fairly wise words the Moriyama family was once again reunited. The very next day Shiemi joined Rin and Yukio’s Exorcist class at the True Cross Academy thanks to the principal, Mephisto, in order to learn more about the outside world so she could go look for the Amahara Garden one day.

Things were relatively normal for a little while but one of the students was becoming agitated with Rin’s lack of attention in class and his piss poor grades while Shiemi struggled with learning the plants actual names as she tended to give them different names. While they were outside at one point the group of Kyoto boys came over to give Rin a hard time and when he was asked if Shiemi was his girlfriend or even just a friend he denied it fiercely, hurting her in the process. Later she’s an onlooker when Bon and Rin get into a confrontation in one of the classes. She watched as Rin saved Bon from a demon and declared that he was going to be the one to kill Satan. After that she saw how Rin was acting so friendly with the other boys in class and Shiemi decided that she wanted to make friends with the girls.

However, her crippling shyness and clumsiness often stood in her way along with Kamiki’s attitude. In one of their classes Shiemi learned that she could become a Tamer as she summoned Nii-chan, her tiny Greenman demon familiar. As Kamiki was the only other one who was able to summon a familiar she tried to use that as an opening to try to make friends with the girl. Finally the girl accepted, yet used Shiemi’s naivety in order to get her to do things like buy drinks, carry bags, and other various things while saying it was what friends did. Rin noticed how she was being treated but didn’t get the opportunity to say anything until the class decided to have a training camp week in the Okumura’s dorm building for the upcoming Exwire exam. While Rin and Shiemi were standing in the hallway Kamiki and her friend were attacked in the bath and they rushed in to help.

Kamiki’s fox demons had turned on her because they had sensed a weakness but Rin reminded her that she could rip up the paper and they’d go away. Paku had been injured and needed treatment for her injuries so Shiemi told Rin to deal with the demon while she tried to help. Her familiar, Nii-chan, gave her the plant that she needed in order to save the girl and Yukio came to chase the demon away as Rin couldn’t use his blade as that risked revealing his identity as Satan’s son. With Paku’s injury and drop out Kamiki had been shaken and started not doing all that well in class which Bon decided to poke at. It resulted in a fight between the two and the entire class was punished by having to sit with a demon stone on their lap.

Shortly after Yukio left them the lights went out and the demon returned. Shiemi and Nii-chan were quick to respond by growing a barrier of roots to try to put a stop to the demon. However it wasn’t dead and Rin crawled through to get clear of the group so he could unleash his flames and turn on the lights. Yet the demon had split in two and only one chased after him. The Kyoto trio decided that they could put an end to it if they just recited the right scripture because Shiemi was growing weaker. So as a group they set to work and just after she collapsed Kamiki had to summon her familiars and get them back under her command in order to save Bon. Finally they won and Rin returned after defeating his own demon and flipping on the lights. As it turned out the whole thing had been their Exwire exam. Shortly after returning home, Yukio came to talk to Shiemi about her future because she hadn’t picked a field. He questioned whether she really wanted to be an Exorcist and that she should decide soon.

It was then when he had a bad feeling and the two of them rushed back to the dorm where Yukio tried to wake Rin but instead ended up dragging him out of the room and leaving him with Shiemi. When he woke to the sound of gunshots Rin raced out to find his brother and she trailed after them. On the way up she saw the teacher who had been in charge of teaching them how to summon familiars but he brushed her off even though he was injured. Arriving on the roof she saw that Rin was injured and insisted that he let her treat him. Then and there she made her mind that she wanted to be an Exorcist; she wanted to be stronger like the both of them.

Their first real mission was to search an amusement park for a ghost; then call it in, Rin and Shiemi were partnered together and began looking. During the search they talked about she had never been to a park like this one and Rin said that they could go together and she agreed – not knowing he was kind of talking about a date. It was Rin who sensed the ghost’s presence on the merry-go-round and they discovered that it was a young boy and he was crying. Shiemi tried to comfort him after he talked about always being sick, not being to come to the park and then dying, but the little prankster “groped” her chest before flying off getting the two ExWires to chase him. They separated and Shiemi was the one to find him again while Rin got caught up with another demon who claimed to be his big brother.

She was unaware that Rin was fighting against Amaimon as she was chasing the ghost but it was what caused parts of the roller coaster to rain down on them. With help from Nii-chan a root shield is formed and Shiemi does her best to protect the ghost child but when Rin saw them about to be crushed it was his flames that saved them. It was due to this that the ghost child was able to move on and leave the park because he finally had someone to play with him. The fight between demons ended when Kirigakure Shura revealed her true identity as one an Upper First Class Exorcist posing as one of the students. Her mission had been to find any shady links between the Okumura’s adopted father, Mephisto, and Satan which she unfortunately found thanks to Rin’s blue flames. Shura took Rin away without answering any of the other students’ questions. Luckily she seemed to like Rin and didn’t report in about him to the top, though she did take away his sword and gave him a wooden one instead. The next day Shura became one of the class’ teachers in order to keep an eye on the eldest Okumura brother.

While the rest of the school was on summer break the ExWires were to spend three days in a forest training camp and the group trekked to the True Cross Academy forest where they set up camp in a huge clearing. Shiemi and Kamiki put in charge of putting up a protective circle and handling dinner, which they handled the first very well. When it came time for them to make dinner though, Shiemi was a little lost which Rin took notice of. So with his excellent skills he took over the main course while she did the salad. Everyone loved Rin’s food and expressed it freely, making him feel happy and like part of a group. Shiemi noticed, telling Yukio about her observations and he pointed out that she seemed to be watching him for a while but she didn’t hear him clearly.

After dinner it was finally time to tell them about their mission and Yukio explained that they had to go into the forest that was infested with low level demons to light a lantern and bring it back to the camp. The catch? There’s only three lanterns, which make them think that there are only three positions for advancement. After going through their packs about what’s available to them the students take off and are immediately attacked by demons possessing moths. Before Shiemi has much of a chance to react the demons rip up her summoning paper and Nii-chan was dismissed. Something huge came from behind and knocked her out but not before she let out a scream. When Rin reached her she was still unconscious and covered with moths which he accidentally used his flames to get rid of them in a fit of anger. Bon also appeared asking what the light was but Rin claimed to have not seen whatever it was.

Shiemi woke then, now without Nii-chan as she couldn’t summon him since some of her belongings were missing. She explained to the boys that the moment she turned around she was attacked by what looked like a giant moth. There’s no more talking as something came barreling out of the bushes and Rin deflected an attack from…Shima, one of the Kyoto three. Both Bon and Shima received a text from the third member of the Kyoto group, Konekomaru, saying that they would have to cooperate. When the entire group arrived they saw what the problem was. The lantern was bigger than they were, also known as a “peg lantern” that laid in wait for someone to light it so it could snack on them. Since they couldn’t get a hold of the other classmates the five of them devised a plan to get it back, Rin pulled the cart, Bon chanted to keep it subdued, Koneko Shima fought the moth demons and Shiemi fed the fire.

Everything was fine until they came across a horribly rickety bridge that wouldn’t support a person, much less a cart with a huge lantern. What’s worse was that the bridge spanned a pit filled with bugs and they were running out time so couldn’t find a way around. So they had to come up with a plan to get it across and do it fast. Bon came up with a plan that would make it so that the lantern would cross on its own by unsealing it and letting it chase Shiemi across where they would seal it on the other side. In order for this to work she had to sit on Rin’s shoulders as there was no way she was capable of running through the bugs. Luckily the plan worked and the lantern was across but Rin accidentally knocked down the barrier which brought the huge moth demon out of hiding in the pit. It grabbed Rin and he told them to go but Bon refused and used some of his abilities to disorient the demon so they could run. They made it back to camp safe and sound before morning came, successfully completing their mission only to discover that they were the last ones back.

Shiemi started showing signs of pain shortly before Amaimon appeared outside of the barrier with a familiar. After they were both blown away, Shura splashed the group with holy water to help diminish any damage done while wet. They also learned that Yukio had gone off and they can no longer reach him while Shura returned Rin’s sword in order to fight Amaimon. While everyone was busy Shiemi walked right out of the protective barrier and into Amaimon’s hands where he explained that he had a chuchi (moth demon) lay eggs in her so that she was completely under his control. While Shura battled Amaimon’s little pet Rin went to save Shiemi where he was followed by the Kyoto three. The four of them attempted to rescue her but they couldn’t and Rin had to unleash his flames in order to save them all, even against Yukio’s protest. As Rin and Amaimon fought setting the forest on fire, the Kyoto three could only stare and Yukio set to work on removing the larva from Shiemi’s neck.

After the group was reunited they began to retreat and Shiemi woke in time to see Rin engulfed in blue flames that were a sure sign of Satan. Mephisto decided that it was time to put a stop to the fight as he’d been watching the entire time and was able to get rid of Amaimon but Rin was consumed by his flames. By the time they’d made it back to the upper level of the academy Shiemi was completely awake but the flames had drawn the Order’s attention and the higher ups sent the newly appointed Paladin to deal with it, one Arthur Augusto Angel. Both Rin and Mephisto appeared, Rin still raging out of control but a simple re-sheathing of his sword and the boy passed out. Rin’s life was temporarily spared by an order from the Grigori that an investigation of Mephisto’s actions would take place and Rin was evidence. When he tried to talk to his friends before being dragged away they all acted badly and they didn’t get to resolve anything.

In the hospital while everyone was being treated Yukio explained about Rin’s situation, how they were the sons of Satan but Rin received all of the power and didn’t even know until three months ago before they even started school. Meanwhile, in the trial the Grigori decided to let Rin live and laid down several conditions that he must fulfill, starting with always being watched by Shura or Yukio. When a small few of them return to school Shiemi is there when Rin came in and fight started over a misunderstanding but again, they don’t get to fix it before he’s dragged away for private lessons.

Shiemi and Rin don’t get to see each other for a while as they have different lessons so the first time they see each other again is on the train while preparing for a mission in Kyoto. However, she fled that interaction before much is said as she is confused about all sorts of things. After the train departed for Kyoto they were told about what was going. The left eye of the Impure King had been stolen and the right eye in Kyoto had an attempt made so they (and several Exorcists) were being dispatched to keep it safe. After the debriefing a fight broke out between Kamiki and Bon which resulted in all of the ExWires receiving another punishment of the stone rocks on their laps. Unfortunately inside of the stones was a particularly powerful demon and it attacked Shiemi, landing on her back and forcing her to the ground. The Kyoto three tried to help her but to no avail. Even Rin’s superhuman strength did nothing so he used his flames; which is when she realized that even though they were touching her they weren’t hot, merely warm. However, it looked back to the others and Bon pulled him off just as the demon fled. The fire touching her went out but the surrounding seats weren’t so lucky and Shiemi insisted that they shouldn’t call the Exorcists to deal with it as Rin hadn’t gone beserk. Kamiki summoned her fox familiars and used sacred wine to put out the flames.

After departing from the train they were taken by bus to the ryokan run by Bon’s mother and were instantly put to work helping the people who had been hurt. The Exorcists wouldn’t let Rin help so he wandered off where he met Bon’s father. Shiemi, on the other hand, was trying so hard that she became clumsy so they sent her out to collect something from the garden. When Kamiki also arrived it’s here we learn that she felt unreliable because Rin and Yukio didn’t tell her about being the sons of Satan and because she still can’t summon Nii-chan anymore. Kamiki cheered her up by saying that she’s shameless and bold like a weed so Shiemi went back to work and made herself useful. The next day most of the students had off but Rin had to train and Shiemi kept working anyway.

It was during this day that another attempt to steal the right eye was made by Mamushi – one of the family members who worked closely with Bon’s family. With help of the thief of the left eye, Toudou, the two escape in order to bring the eyes back to the place they were originally held. When Bon’s father refused to answer any questions a fight between father and son started, which Rin interfered with. Unfortunately for him, his temper flared along with his flames and Shura was forced to subdue him which ended with him being locked away waiting execution. As it turned out Mamushi was tricked and there was no safe place to hide the eyes away, just the corpse of the Impure King who started reviving with the return of its eyes. Bon’s father attempted to stop it but failed so Shura sent the ExWires to break Rin out of jail and go find him. They were given invisibility cloaks and made their way to the cell, which was sentient. It deemed everyone but Shiemi as a threat so it paralyzed them all and only she could go in to find Rin.

Once inside she found him and when his attempts to keep her away failed she hugged him, saying she was sorry for the way she had been acting. It doesn’t take much to break out then and the group headed into the forest to locate Bon’s father which they did. The Impure King couldn’t be stopped, they were losing the fight. So they devised a plan that would hopefully at least keep it from destroying the entire city and the girls stayed with Bon’s injured father while the boys separated to do their part. When Kamiki was caught in the Impure King’s mashou (a wound or illness inflicted by a demon) she attempted to tell Shiemi to continue on but Shiemi wouldn’t do it. It was then when she was able to summon Nii-chan again and for a while they attempted to at least keep the mashou at bay so Kamiki wouldn’t die. Her determination and will was so strong that Nii-chan absorbed the grass and grew to be bigger than Shiemi and it helped her try to pull Kamiki free. Elsewhere, during her attempt, Bon had collapsed to the Impure King and Rin was finally able to draw his sword and fought against the demon. His flames spread and as they drew closer to the girls, Shiemi knew it would okay and accepted them. As it turned out the flames purified everyone inflicted with mashou while burning the Impure King to ash. The demon was dead and Rin had ensured that he would no longer be executed. Shiemi, Kamiki and Bon’s father are retrieved via helicopter and brought back to the ryokan.

Later Rin woke to find Shiemi sleeping next to him and she finally worked up the courage to tell him that they’d be friends forever, which he took wrong. The day after the Impure King’s defeat is an off day so the teens spend it exploring Kyoto and all of them have now made up with Rin, trusting in him. It’s during this pleasant day that Shiemi is from.

Green was all around her, even under her knees as she sat with her legs under her next to the row of tomato plants. A straight stick was in her hand while a ball of yarn sat in her lap along with a pair of scissors. Shiemi pushed the stick into the ground, making sure it was steady and turned her attention to the ball of yarn where she cut off a good length of it. She handed it to Nii-chan who had been wandering around the base of the injured vegetable plant.

Reaching up Shiemi gently pulled the tomato plant upright and held it. "Now, Nii-chan." The tiny demon hopped up to her shoulder and wandered down to where the stick and plant met only to tie the yarn around them both - tight enough to hold but not too tight. Cautiously she pulled her hands away and breathed a sigh of relief when it stayed. She smiled down at the Greenman now in her hand. "We did it."

With that she put him back on the ground and reached into the basket to pull out some of the plant tape to mend where the stem had snapped from someone's careless actions earlier. After putting the supplies back into the basket she reached up to touch one of the non-bruised tiny tomatoes. "All better. How about next season we re-pot you and hang you near one of the corners, Akihiko-chan?" It looked silly talking to a plant - she knew that but Shiemi didn't mind.

She looked down at Nii-chan and grabbed the handle of the basket. "Are you ready for your watering?" He responded with an excited 'Nii!' before climbing into the basket before she lifted it off the ground and got to her feet.

Video

[The video comes on not to feature a person but a green creature who has what appears to be an orange leaf and a smaller yellow leaf as some sort of mask and a lily pad on top of its head. It can't be all that much bigger than the 'berry itself but it's definitely curious. From the background it seems to be one of the changing areas in the medical area.]

Nii! [More buttons are pushed so cover your ears because it's loud sounds coming through.] Nii! [The creature seems to smile when it notices the red flashing light. It gives the device a little wave in the process too.]

Nii-chan, stop that! That's not a toy. [A female voice comes from off in the distance. Shiemi comes into view wearing nothing more than a sheet, a bright orange kimono folded in her arms and she offers the little creature a hand to climb into and she puts him on her shoulder.] I'm not sure who it belongs to but they'll want it back and we had better not break it. [When she reaches down for the 'berry she turns it off, not even realizing it was on in the first place.]

This game includes horrible mental and physical torture of your character. After reading the rules/faq for clarification, how do you expect your character to handle this and continue to function?

It'll be hard for her seeing as how she's pretty new to the world outside of her garden but Shiemi is also strong. She may react badly to a situation at first but in the end the experiences will make her a stronger person. As long as she has friends and a reason to fight then nothing will hold her down, not even the hardships of the Facility. Physically she'll be able to take care of a lot of her own injuries if they aren't too bad and Nii-chan also provides good protection. Shiemi is a tough girl when things get bad.
